Charlestown

Considered to be one of the “underrated” shoreline communities in Rhode Island, Charlestown does have some of the most breathtaking beach fronts in the state, commonly visited by out-of-state residents come summertime. A bit more on the “sleepy” side than say a Misquamicut or Matunuck beach, many folks choose to escape to Charlestown for a relaxing getaway, versus a party atmosphere. In addition to the “beachy” living options south of Route 1, Charlestown expands north, away from the shore, and boasts properties with larger lots, more privacy and a more wooded terrain. Many locals, as well as second home owners, also take advantage of the low property taxes offered in this community.
